To be a Turtleneck Wearer, or Not to be: That is the Question
By runrchic1
So I Have a Secret
I truly, down deeply, love, cherish, and adore . . . (are you ready for it) . . . turtlenecks. My turtle-neck sportin' self is out of closet (literally - I just walked out of my closet in the brown turtleneck pictured below). I am twenty-eight years old, and I simply cannot wait until the fall weather arrives, so I can wear them again. My sister, Kristen (the fashionista), thinks it is never okay to wear them; she thinks they're hideous. (Gasp!) If she had her way, she would destroy every turtleneck I own: the black ones (yes, I have multiple black turtlenecks), the white ones (empasis on plural), the purple, pink, light pink, dark gray, light gray, cream, brown, and light brown ones. (The list could keep going.) So, to my wonderful sister and all you other anti-turtleneck wearing haters out there, this list is for you.
The Reasons Why It IS Okay to Be a Turtleneck Wearer Like Me
1. They keep you warm in the cold fall and winter months. I am constantly cold. My thermostat is broken or set to frozen. I haven't decided which yet. Those turtlenecks I wear help me stay a little bit warmer when it's chilly outside.
2. They hide my giraffe neck. I have an unusually long neck. It stands out (or up?) way too much. Those turtlenecks help my self-confidence my minimizing my neck.
3. You can accessorize a turtleneck. You can wear a matching scarf or a long, dramatic necklace to spice up your turtleneck, so you don't end up looking like your mom. (Not you, Mom! I'd love to look like you. Just ask Kristen.)
4. You like them! Be true to who you are; if you like wearing 'em, rock 'em all ready.
Can't argue with that list.

You look great in turtlenecks. I say if you like them, they look good on you,and they keep you warm (in winter the #1 reason to wear anything!) just DO IT! (I have multiple turtlenecks of the same color too, but of course I am not 28.)
Hollie be real the only reason you wear those things is to cover the bruises on your neck oh we used to call them hickeys. I also know someone that used to have a fetish with turtlenecks I think your related to her
Booman, you're outta control. Hickies are so passe.
I don't know who your dad is talking about, but I think they are okay ;-) I loved them in middle school, so of course I think they are fine at any age. Actually, I think I just got rid of one a few years ago that I had since middle school. No need to tell anyone how long I had that turtleneck :-)
Black turtle necks are a wonderful thing! I am with you on this one. ;)
